2006 SV1000S

APRIL 6th 2006

I decided it was time to increase the fun factor a bit. While the V-max was a fun and very fast motorcycle it left a little to be desired in the handling department. I have been eye-balling the twins the last few months and finally decided on the SV. So far I am very happy with it. I’ve only got 160 miles on it but I find myself not wanting to go home.

Big Boys Toys were gracious enough to deliver this bike in an enclosed trailer as it had been raining all week long. The SV was delivered on March 29th 2006 with 0 miles showing on the odometer. Here are couple of pics. The ones in the garage are the day I took delivery.

horn

February 2007 – I removed the stock horn located just behind the radiator. I had a FIAMM horn laying around and mounted it inside upper fairing right side.

Tony aka ‘Swampboy’ made me some spacers to lift the petrol tank up about 1/2″ in the front to allow a little more air into the airbox.

Another Horn mod. Not sure why I have a fascination with horns. Removed the FIAMM horn and added a Stebel Nautilus. 139DB!!! Located inside the left side upper fairing.

November 2008 Front cowl removed. Had a minor accident with the new power washer back in June and some of the paint came off. I probably shouldn’t wash the bike with a power washer even with the ‘delicate nozzle’. I’m sure the cowl wasn’t properly prepped before it was painted. On a mission to find a good painter locally. Old School Body Shop in Ogden painted the cowl. They did an execellent job.

January 2009 The Original Michelin Pilot Powers were showing some serious wear. I got about 4500 miles out of the them. The front had a little life left on it but I decided on another tire all together. Michelin Pilot Power 2CT’s were mounted!
